Are YOU tired of Meeting “Cat People?”

CLEVELAND, OH September 19, 2004 — “Are you tired of Meeting Cat People?” This is the catch phrase/question of an intriguing new Internet site geared toward Dog Lovers and their pets.

The unique purpose of this ground-breaking site is to find companionship for yourself AND your dog. The sky’s the limit at Doggiematch.com. Whether it be a new jogging partner for yourself, a play mate for your pup, perhaps that once-in-a-lifetime romantic relationship that you’ve been looking for, or “D” - all the above! You’ll be sure to find it at Doggie Match. More importantly you’ll make those special connections with people that cherish their pets.

Along with vastly descriptive picture-personal ads you can get information on pet health, grooming, recreation, travel and plenty more. The site also has many discussion groups (categorized by breed), and holds semi-annual member get-togethers, where pups and owners can get to know each other up close and personal!

The creative force behind DoggieMatch.com is native Clevelander Lisa Hawkins. How very apropos for the home town of the famous Cleveland Brown’s “Dog Pound” to also be the home for a site dedicated to matching up dog lovers! Lisa is the proud “Mom” of Sidney, an adorable 3 year old Lhasa Apso, whom she refers to as her “furry child.” Sidney was her inspiration for Doggie Match.

“Dogs need interaction with other dogs, just as people need other people.” Lisa explains. “It helps them thrive and teaches them how to be socially interactive. Just like children, they need to learn tolerance, how to share and how to play together.” She continues, “Sid’s not just my dog, he’s an important part of my family, and I want him to have friends.”

This seems to be a devotion that many people share. Let’s face it, the world is going to the dogs! Dogs are “IN.” Dog-related movies and TV shows are more popular than ever before. Specialty doggie boutiques, spas and bakeries are popping up in mid-sized cites as well as greater metropolitan areas. Indeed, it seems that rather than a dog-eat-dog world, it’s becoming a dog-meet-dog world! Even celebrities aren’t immune — you can frequently see celebrities photographed these days out on the town with their beloved canine companions. Doggie Match will be interviewing many of these celebrities and will have interviews posted regularly as just one of the many features of this exciting site.

As for you “Cat People,” don’t be offended or feel slighted, Lisa’s “furry child,” Sidney, has 3 kitty roommates who have inspired “Kitty Match” - coming soon!
