Baby Boom…Show Off Your Little Bundle of Joy in a Rockin Baby Sling
Los Angeles, CA July 13, 2004 — If the current climate in Hollywood is any indication, babies have become the hottest new accessory. New moms Courteney Cox Arquette, Debra Messing, Gwyneth Paltrow, Brooke Shields and Kate Hudson aren?t shy about showing off their little bundles of joy. Now you can too with a Rockin Baby Sling.
Rockin Baby Slings are a fashionable, hip accessory that you can safely and comfortably wear your baby in. Founded by LA moms, Lisa McDaniel and Natasha Walsh - and a favorite of actress Carrie-Anne Moss and Dixie Chick Martie Seidel (Maguire) - Rockin Baby Slings offer new moms (and dads) an easy and stylish way to hold baby close while keeping hands free.
?When we became new moms, we liked the freedom slings offered. However, we weren?t satisfied with how some brands looked or worked,? explains Lisa and Natasha. ?We didn?t like the padding in one, the plastic buckle on another, the unnecessary amount of fabric and, of course, the lack of color choices. We started Rockin Baby Slings so other new moms could still look fashionable while keeping their children close at hand.?
Rockin Baby Slings are available in a variety of linen, cotton twill, cotton voile, cotton poplin, cotton linen and vintage fabrics in an assortment of beautiful colors and unique trim. Choose from styles with metal, plastic or lightweight aluminum rings, including Black with Silver Studs, Brown Floral Voile with Brown Edge & Pocket and Hot Pink with Pink & Orange Geometric Band, among others.
To use:
1. Start with the sling laid out flat with the tag and pocket side up.
2. Gather the fabric end together in an accordion like fashion, folding it in little pleats along the bottom of the pocket.
3. Once the end is folded in pleats, keeping the pocket side up, bring it up to the rings, so tags and pocket face each other. Carefully thread it through both rings.
4. Holding the pleated end together, bring it back through the bottom of the ring (like a belt), pulling it to create the tail. Now, the sling won?t move without you purposely adjusting it.
5. Decide which shoulder you want the sling to rest on. (Most people choose the shoulder that is opposite their dominant hand.) Place the sling over your head resting the rings just below the shoulder (with tags on the inside).
6. Adjust the sling by pulling the tail. This makes the pouch smaller. The longer the tail, the smaller the sling (and vice versa).
7. Ease baby into the sling by holding the pouch open with one arm and holding baby with the other. While supporting baby?s weight, pull the tail to tighten the sling.
8. Adjust the front and back rails to customize and perfect baby?s fit in the sling. Pull the outside edge of the tail, just below the rings, for the back of the pouch and the inside edge of the tail for the front. Hold baby?s bottom while you adjust the size of the sling.
9. To remove baby from the sling, simply pull the top ring away from your body, loosening it just enough to lift baby out. This will preserve your customized fit so you will just have to adjust it slightly when you put baby back in by pulling the tail to tighten it.
Rockin Baby Slings are usable from the time of your baby?s birth until he or she is a 35 pound toddler. Slings are easily adjustable to fit the size of the wearer and the size of the baby, and fit conveniently into a diaper bag or handbag. They are ideal for discreet breast-feeding. Prices range between $50 to $86.95.
