Judge Mablean Of ?Divorce Court? Set To Honor Father’s At H.U.F. Awards And Brunch June 20th

Los Angeles, CA June 16, 2004 — Fathers, mentors, grandfathers and men nominated by family and friends will join Judge Mablean Ephriam of ?Divorce Court? Sunday, June 20th at the Honoring Unsung Fathers (H.U.F.) Awards and Brunch. Hosted by the Mablean Ephriam Foundation, a non-profit, public benefit corporation, the Honoring Unsung Fathers (H.U.F.) Awards and Brunch is scheduled to take place from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Westin Long Beach Hotel, 333 E. Ocean Blvd., in Long Beach, California.

The program will include a line up of some of today?s most distinguished jazz and recording artists, including contemporary jazz artist Najee, jazz violinist Michael Ward, jazz saxophonists Jeanette Harris and Varetta Heidelberg and award-winning recording artist and songwriter, Brenda Lee Eager. Guests can also expect a surprise performance by a major jazz musician. Comedian Michael Colyar will serve as Master of Ceremonies.

Attendees will enjoy an all you can eat buffet, family portrait opportunities and a vendor walkway. Five of the seventy H.U.F. nominees will be awarded during the program. Winners will be announced the day of the event and awards will be presented to a single parent father, a married father, a divorced father, a non-biological father and a senior father. Author Antwone Fisher, a father of two children and 2003 H.U.F. Awards recipient, is one of this year?s special presenters as well as Co-Chair.

Ticket prices are $60 for adults and teens 14 years of age and over and $30 for children between the ages of 5-13. Children 4 years old and under are free. All tickets must be purchased in advance. The H.U.F. Awards 2004 Honorary Co-Chairs include recording artist Chaka Kahn; actress/comedian Mo?Nique; comedian Kym Whitley; author Antwone Fisher; and actresses Victoria Rowell, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Anna Maria Horsford, Terri J. Vaughn and Rolonda Watts.

Judge Mablean Ephriam, of the popular courtroom show ?Divorce Court,? established the H.U.F. Awards in 2003 to bring attention and recognition to everyday fathers who maintain a lifestyle that exemplifies love towards their spouse, children, family, and community.
