?The safest place for your pet as the summer heats up is inside an air conditioned house,? cautions Bonfini ?Give your pet access to the window so he can enjoy the warmth of the suns rays but always make sure your pet can get out of the sun if it gets too hot.?
2. Wet the bottom of your pets paws
Applying cool water to your animals? paws is a perfect way to lower his overall body temperature.
3. Put wet towels on your pets skin
This is another method of bringing down your dogs body temperature.
4. Apply sunscreen to hairless dogs
Hairless breeds such as Chinese Crested and Hairless Terriers have exposed skin that can burn just like their human counterparts. Apply sunscreen with an SPF 30 to any exposed skin on your pet.
